LEGAL ASSISTANT
I am most definitely a country girl! I was very fortunate growing up in the small community of Adrian, Texas on the Bridwell Ranch, where my beloved grandad was the General Manager for over 38 years. I was blessed with the best role model, who not only taught me about life and love, but also the art of ranching, farming, raising horses, cattle and farm animals.
As a young girl growing up on the ranch, I learned many valuable life lessons – some the easy way and some by the School of Hard Knocks! Adversity taught me a sincere empathy and compassion for others. As long as I can remember, I have felt a need to help those less fortunate and those who are going through a difficult time in their lives. I have always had a heart for hurting people, and truly wanted to make a difference in the lives my life touched. It has always given me such pleasure to do what I could to give someone hope and make their day just a little brighter!
After graduation, I attended Amarillo College and graduated with an Associates Degree in Business Administration. Little did I know then that I would spend the next 40 plus years in the legal field!
As a former Executive Director and Director of Community Volunteers of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), I have been a voice in the court system for children removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect, lobbying for the best possible placement in a safe permanent home. This experience reinforced my desire and principle of standing up for those who can’t stand up for themselves. This job also gave me a deeper understanding of the legal system, particularly CPS and cases involving child abuse.
As a single mom of 3 girls, it was very important to me that their school environment was conducive to learning and was safe and free from bullying. Therefore, I ran for School Board, was elected and was instrumental in implementing an “Anti-Bullying” Policy for their school system.
I’ve been blessed to work in the legal field in various fields of expertise for over 40 years. My experience has shown me that we all go through periods in our lives which many times are not of our choosing. During those times, we may not know where to turn or what to do next and we need a helping hand – someone honest, sincere, nonjudgmental and willing to go the extra mile to help put our feet back on solid ground.
I have known and admired Ryan Brown for many years and I know him to be a man of utmost honesty, integrity, grit and determination – a man who works very hard for his clients to achieve the best possible outcome. I am very fortunate to be able to do what I love every day with wonderful, giving and caring people who are family, and to have the ability to help make a difference for those our lives touch.
