Investigator
I am a criminal defense and civil investigator. I have been conducting investigations around the United States for many years and in Amarillo and the Panhandle since 2011. I am not an attorney, my primary role is to gather information of all kinds that informs your attorney’s strategy for your case. I work at the direction of your attorney and opposite of law enforcement, including the district attorney’s investigators to insure that each of your constitutional rights are protected during the lifespan of each case. This includes your right to a competent defense. With this in mind, I review each document and any physical evidence that exists, find and interview witnesses and document each aspect of the investigation conducted on your behalf. From trial through post-conviction proceedings, no stone is left unturned.
My passion for investigation was born early in life when I was given the opportunity to travel to various countries to advocate for political and religious prisoners who were unjustly imprisoned under oppressive regimes. There are a few key beliefs that continue to motivate my approach to investigation: I believe that every individual is of inestimable value and, therefore, worthy of the absolute best work I can do, I believe that everyone is better than their worst act or most difficult moment and I believe that each individual is redeemable. These beliefs govern our work whether we are investigating a capital murder accusation or a misdemeanor.
I have been privileged, over the years, to work with many talented attorneys and legal teams around the country to investigate cases in state, federal and military courts. Our work over the years has produced many positive results for our clients including dismissals, acquittals, reduced sentences and awards. Working with Ryan Brown and his defense team has been the honor of a lifetime and, should the need arise, we will be here for you as well.
The best way I know how to summarize our work is in the words of the legendary Texas attorney, Stuart Kinard: “Protecting those of the Lord’s children who have fallen short of perfection from the wrath of those who believe they have achieved it.”
